Former adult star Lana Rhoades says she is asexual and believes ‘p*rn should be illegal’

Former adult film star Lana Rhoades has candidly stated that she is asexual and believes p*rnography should be illegal.

The former adult star joined the world of p*rn in 2016 and only filmed eight months’ worth of content in two four-month stints before she ultimately retired as it took a toll on her mental health.

Now aged 27, Rhoades uses her platform to speak out about her disdain for the adult entertainment industry.

Back in 2022, Rhoades appeared on The Skinny Confidential podcast to talk about the negative aspects of being a p*rn star.

She candidly spoke about her experience, revealing that she was unaware of what she was getting herself into when she first entered the field.

“I also had only slept with one person at this point. So, I was very sexually inexperienced,” she shared. “That’s why and for whatever reason I never comprehended like to do porn you actually have to have sex with people.

“It’s just the idea of, oh okay, I’m going to be like Anna Nicole Smith or I’m going to be like Holly Madison or this person it was like an idea in my head but I wasn’t mature enough to realize what actually went into it,” she continued, adding: “And very, very quickly I realized this isn’t for me.”

Rhoades, who is a mom-of-one, soon realized that the industry was a job that required her to engage in sexual acts with specific partners, regardless of personal preference.

“I mean, essentially you’re having to have sex with people that you didn’t choose to have sex with that you might not find attractive – you might actually think that they’re disgusting and you have to have sex with them because it’s your job,” she explained.

She said that the industry can exploit young women, putting them in vulnerable situations: “How should a 19-year-old girl be put in that position having to have sex with people that they don’t really don’t want to touch their body at all.”

Despite her success after eight months, she remains staunchly opposed to p*rnography, believing it to be harmful. “Going back to p*rn, I just don’t think that it’s good for anyone, they should make it illegal,” she said.

In addition to this, she disclosed that she identifies as asexual: “Pretty much like I never hook up with people, I don’t find people attractive, and I’ve always been like that, it’s not like there’s like a change after doing p*rn.”

The TV personality, who went on to find success in fashion, warned that many women in the adult film industry struggle to make a living and often find their intimate videos shared online without their consent or financial compensation.

Speaking on Harry Jowsey’s ‘Tap In’ podcast back in 2021, Rhoades said that she wishes she could wipe all of her old explicit videos off the internet.

“A lot of the videos I have no rights under, otherwise I probably would have deleted them all by now,” she said.

She also opened up about her regrets, adding: “I honestly tell people, if I could go back, I would give up everything to have my dignity and respect back, and for people not to be able to see me in that way.”
